OCEAN® Premium Saline Nasal Spray

Q. How often can I use OCEAN®?

A. OCEAN® Premium Saline Nasal Spray contains no active ingredients and may be used as often as needed or as prescribed by your doctor. Regular irrigation with saline nasal spray can help keep the nasal passages clear of pollens, bacteria, dust, dander, and other airborne irritants.

Q. Are there any side effects or interactions with drugs that I am taking?

A. OCEAN® Premium Saline Nasal Spray is non-medicated. In fact, doctors and pharmacists often recommend saline nasal sprays as co-therapies with prescription drugs because the saline sprays do not contain any active ingredients that might lead to interaction problems.

Q. What about the ingredients? Can I get addicted to OCEAN®?

A. OCEAN® Premium Saline Nasal Spray is non-medicated and may be used as often as needed. It contains a solution of sodium chloride 0.65% in purified water (USP), with benzyl alcohol and benzalkonium chloride as safe and widely used preservatives. OCEAN® is specially formulated and contains no unnecessary additives.

Q. Does OCEAN® Premium Saline Nasal Spray have gluten in it?

A. The formulation does not contain any gluten – a protein found in wheat – to which some people have an intolerance. In any manufacturing process there is possibility, however remote, of cross-contamination of raw materials.

Q. Will OCEAN® make me drowsy?

A. The OCEAN® formulation is drug-free and contains no ingredients that cause drowsiness.

Q. Does OCEAN® affect people with high blood pressure?

A. The OCEAN® formulation is isotonic, which means it has the same salt concentration as your body. When used as directed it should have no effect on a person’s blood pressure.

Q. Can my whole family use the same bottle of OCEAN®?

A. While OCEAN® Premium Saline Nasal Spray is designed for use by all ages, it is preferable for each family member to use his or her own bottle. The use of the dispenser by more than one person may spread infection. Many families initialize their OCEAN® bottles with a Magic Marker -– in fact OCEAN® For Kids has a space for initials right on the bottle label.

Q. What should I do if I accidentally get OCEAN® in my eye?

A. You may encounter some stinging or redness if you get OCEAN® Premium Saline Nasal Spray in your eye, but it will not harm you. In case of contact, flush eyes with plenty of water for approximately 15 minutes. If stinging or redness persists, seek medical attention.

Q. Can I use
OCEAN® in my ears?

A. OCEAN® Premium Saline Nasal Spray is not intended for use in the ears.

Q. Why is the expiration date on the bottle sometimes different from the one on the box?

A. This can happen when there are two different products in the box, for instance a tube of gel along with the bottle of OCEAN®. Each product is from a different manufacturing “lot,” so the box contains a unique number that reflects both the product numbers, rather than just the particular OCEAN® lot.
