Former Upsher-Smith Laboratories Executive to Expand Marketing, Sales Capabilities for Upcoming Fleming Products.

Debby Fleming Wurdack and Tommye Fleming are sisters who took over the business from their late father, founder Tom Fleming, retaining Kansas City-based The Chase Group Inc. to launch a national search for its new President. “We were determined to find an executive who could take Fleming in a new direction, while maintaining the elements that have made Fleming such a successful business venture for over 40 years,” says owner Debby Fleming Wurdack.

During his more than two decades in the pharmaceutical industry, Dritsas launched major brands and generic entries, prescription as well as Over-The-Counter (OTC) and helped to grow his former company from sales of a few million to the formidable competitor that it is today. Dritsas holds a BA from the University of Minnesota, and Masters degrees in Health and Human Services and in Management from St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis.

Dritsas expects to expand Fleming’s marketing and selling capabilities dramatically, and to grow the current business and prepare for the pending approval of new products currently in the later stages of clinical development with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Dritsas replaces Tom Johnson, company president since Fleming died in 2003. Johnson retired this past November.
