Based in the greater St. Louis area, privately held Fleming Pharmaceuticals specializes in the discovery, development, and manufacture of innovative prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) therapies. Established in 1960, the company has developed products for a variety of clinical conditions in allergy, pediatrics, nephrology, nutrition, and obstetrics/gynecology. Our fully integrated headquarter facility houses state-of-the-art liquid and solid pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging, analytical microbiological laboratories, research and development, distribution, marketing, and business administration functions.
With a Master’s degree in chemistry from St. Louis University, Tom Fleming founded the pharmaceutical company that bears his name in 1960. For more than five decades, Mr. Fleming’s scientific prowess complemented his unique ability to envision and develop new products based on his discussions with physicians. Well known nationally in the medical community, Mr. Fleming remained active in the daily management of the company until his death in 2003. Today second- and third-generation family members at the company carry on the founder’s legacy of innovation and uncompromising standards in pharmaceuticals research and development, manufacturing, and sales.
Mr. Fleming’s scientific rigor, insistence on the highest standards, and special relationship with the healthcare community endure today as pillars of Fleming’s heritage. Fleming products are manufactured with pride under exacting quality standards in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities in St. Louis County, Missouri.
Owned and operated by Deborah Fleming Wurdack and her sister Tommye Fleming, the company is led by a management team with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, life sciences, and financial management. Fleming’s Board of Directors guides the senior management team in developing strategic initiatives such as licensing opportunities and business partnerships.
